New technologies for teaching and learning

FLAAITEducational Technology unit, TU Graz

The FLAAIT team researches, develops and tests digital solutions that support teaching, learning and studying.

In FLAAIT we combine:

What FLAAIT does.

We work on new technologies for teaching and learning — from research through development to testing. Promising ideas gradually become sustainable digital services for teaching staff and students. Development is evidence-based and happens together with teaching staff and students in real scenarios, in close cooperation with the Institute of Human-Centred Computing (HCC). Didactic background and step-by-step guides for these services are published at TELucation (external site).

Three areas, one goal

A responsible and didactically sound use of technology in teaching.

Future Learning, Analytics & AI for Teaching — together, these three areas make up the FLAAIT team.

Future Learning

Forward-looking research identifies technological developments early and makes them usable for teaching and learning — tested iteratively rather than designed on paper.

Analytics

Learning Analytics turns learning data into immediate feedback for students and teaching staff. Academic Analytics looks at how degree programmes progress and thus enables a more manageable course of study.

AI for Teaching

Practical AI tools support teaching staff didactically — from AI tutors and MOOCs to help with safe, effective prompting.
