Digital overview instead of fragmented data: a study progress dashboard for TU Graz

Short contribution to the fnma magazine: how a data-based study progress dashboard provides orientation and makes planning your own studies easier.

Transparency, self-direction and digital support are central to whether a degree remains manageable. The contribution shows how a study progress dashboard is being developed at TU Graz together with students — and what that means for sustainable digital wellbeing across the student life cycle.

Study-related data sits in many places at a university: in the curriculum, in the transcript of records, in the registration systems. The contribution describes how the dashboard brings these together into one picture that answers a single question — where am I in my degree? It is developed together with students: their feedback decides which figure genuinely helps and which merely adds numbers.
